Wohoho! Nachdem ich auf facebook mehr als interessiert darüber gelesen hatte, dass sich Alexandra Ivy und Laura Wright  zusammen getan hatten, um eine neue paranormale Reihe zu schreiben, mit dem wonnigen Titel „Bayou Heat“, wurde ich ziemlich neugierig. Schließlich verfolge ich seit Anfang an die „Guardians of Eternity“-Reihe von Alexandra Ivy und diese gefällt mir sehr. Leider habe ich bisher noch nichts von Laura Wright  auf Deutsch gelesen, so dass ich noch nicht in den Genuss der Geschichten „Ewiges Verlangen“ kommen konnte.

Als ich dann endlich beim Heyne-Verlag das Cover zum Buch sah, wurde aus dem „ziemlich neugierig“ ein „extrem neugierig“. Darum dachte ich: „Klopf einfach mal bei den beiden Damen an, ob sie vielleicht ein kleines Interview mit mir führen möchten.“

Darum darf ich beide Autorinnen heute im AutorenSalon von Happy End Bücher herzlich Willkommen heißen!  *so cooool* Bevor wir loslegen, möchte ich Euch jedoch erst einen kleinen Blick auf das aktuelle Cover, nebst kurzer Inhaltsangabe von „Bayou Heat – Raphael / Parish“ werfen lassen … *sabber*

Alexandra: Vielen, vielen Dank für die Einladung, Ka. Ich bin so aufgeregt, hier zu sein!! 

Laura: Ja, danke, Ka! Ich bin so, so, so begeistert, hier zu sein!!

Das freut mich! *lacht*
Was passiert genau, wenn sich zwei erfolgreiche Autorinnen zusammentun, um gemeinsam ein Buch zu schreiben? Schrieb jede von Ihnen den Part ihres Heldenpaares und die Geschichte wurde dann „verknüpft“ oder wie müssen wir Leser uns ein kollaboratives Schreiben vorstellen?

Alexandra: Jeder von uns schrieb unsere Geschichten getrennt, aber als wir in der Mitte des Schreibens angelangt waren, haben wir in der Regel täglich miteinander darüber gesprochen, so dass wir den Gesamthandlungsbogen der Bücher einhalten konnten. Natürlich ist das, was wir plotten und das was tatsächlich dabei herauskommt, nie ganz das gleiche. Wir arbeiten erstaunlich gut zusammen und es gab nie ein Problem, wenn eine von uns aus der Spur kam. Wir können uns leicht einklinken wenn die Geschichte darauf besteht in eine neue Richtung zu gehen. 

Laura: Grundsätzlich warte ich, bis Alex ihre brillante Geschichte schreibt, dann mache ich dort weiter. Wir spielen von einer zur anderen und lassen uns gegenseitig alle Freiheiten. Alex hat nicht gescherzt oder übertrieben als sie meinte, wir arbeiten gut zusammen. Es ist wirklich ganz außergewöhnlich … und selten.

Hat  es während der Zusammenarbeit einen Moment gegeben, an dem Sie dachten: „Ich hatte mir das ganze Zeug völlig anders vorgestellt?“

Alexandra: Ja! Das ist das Schöne daran mit einem Partner zu schreiben!! Ich habe eine bestimmte Sichtweise auf die Charaktere und wohin die Handlung gehen soll, dann schlägt Laura etwas vor, an das ich nie gedacht hätte, und mir fällt dazu wieder etwas ein an das sie nie gedacht hätte … und plötzlich ist es Magie! 

Laura: Ja, mal zwei! Lol … Es ist eines meiner Lieblings-Dinge beim zusammen schreiben. Nun, das Schreiben mit Alex. Wenn ich mit dem Lesen von Alex Geschichte fertig bin, kann ich mich entscheiden, in eine völlig andere und provokativere Richtung zu gehen. Es ist wunderbar kreativ!

Welcher der beiden Charaktere – Raphael oder Parish – enstammt Ihrer Autorenfeder Laura?

Laura: Parish. Lol .. Ich werde immer an der Seite meiner Männer sein. Oder meiner Pantera. *g* Wie es scheint, kann ich nichts dagegen tun. Ich fühle ihren Schmerz, ihre Gefühle, ihre Wünsche so deutlich. Sie haben meist die größten Hürden oder Veränderungen zu überwinden.

Wenn ich den Titel „Bayou Heat“ lese, fängt mein Kopfkino sofort an abzulaufen und ich stelle mir schwül-heiße Nächte (okay auch Tage *lacht*) vor. Liege ich damit einigermaßen richtig, Alexandra? 😀

Alexandra: Absolut. Ich habe über vier Jahre in Louisiana gelebt, und es ist etwas sehr erotisches an der Hitze und dem Duft der Blumen, der dick in der Luft hängt. Die Welt scheint sich im Süden in einem langsameren Tempo zu bewegen.

Hmm, das hört sich … heiß an! *grinst*
Laura, können Sie ein wenig aus dem Nähkästchen plaudern? Was erwartete uns Leser – abgesehen von der kurzen Inhaltsangabe – in der neuen „Bayou Hat“-Reihe?

Laura: Oh man. Unglaubliche Dinge! Als nächstes kommen Angel und Hiss. Es wird ein Buch, das den Verlauf der Ereignisse in der Bayou-Reihe wieder verändern wird. Und …. Trommelwirbel … Alex und ich planen eine Ableger-Serie namens „PUMA HEAT“. Etwas mehr Spannung gepaart mit viel mehr Wärme.

Wie würden sie „ihre“ weiblichen, und männlichen Helden in einem kurzen Satz beschreiben?

Alexandra: Meine Frauen neigen dazu Kick-Ass-Heldinnen zu sein. Entweder physisch oder geistig. Ich liebe, liebe, liebe starke Frauen. Meine Männer neigen dazu, sanfter zu sein. Ich liebe es, über Alpha-Männchen zu lesen, aber ich kann nicht über sie schreiben. Meine Helden sind in der Regel stark, aber butterweich. 

Laura: Meine Helden sind immer dunkel, gefährlich, emotional entkernt, und glauben, dass sie keine Liebe verdient haben. Meine Frauen sind stark, smart, auch sanft. Sie sind meist emotional zerrüttet. Ich liebe es, dass sowohl mein Held als auch die Heldin in der Regel emotional ziemlich zerbrochen sind, wenn sie einander finden. Dass sie sich gegenseitig ins Leben zurückbringen, sich  gegenseitig retten, eine Familie gründen, die beide ersehnen und verdienen.

Steht schon fest, aus wie vielen Geschichten sich die Reihe letztendlich zusammensetzen wird, oder kann man das vorher nicht sagen?

Alexandra: Wir haben eine festgelegte Anzahl von Büchern in jedem Handlungsbogen. Es ist wichtig, einen Höhepunkt zu haben, wenn man kontinuierlich Spannung aufbaut. Aber uns fallen immer wieder neue Handlungsstränge ein, so dass es unmöglich zu sagen ist, wie viele Bücher es schließlich geben wird.

Laura: Ich hoffe, diese Serie endet nie! Es gibt immer eine neue Wendung, einen neuen Konflikt – ein paar Kämpfe – zu erkunden.

Wir Leser dürfen uns also auf einiges Mehr freuen! ^^
Hatten Sie bei der Covergestaltung der deutschen Ausgabe ein Mitspracherecht? Sie unterscheidet sich doch sehr, von der des Originals.

Alexandra: Nein, wir konnten nicht mitentscheiden, aber ich liebe das Cover! 

Laura: Es ist anders als das Original, aber genauso heiß. Ich liebe das Cover, und ich kann es kaum erwarten, die Cover der nächsten zwei Bücher zu sehen!

Eine kleine, etwas provokante, letzt Frage an Sie beide: Könnten Sie sich vorstellen, auch mit anderen Autorinnen zusammen zu schreiben? *zwinkert mit den augen*

Alexandra: Wir haben ein Projekt mit der fabelhaften Lara Adrian und Donna Grant namens „Masters of Seduction!“, wo wir über wahnsinnig heiße Incub schreiben! Und das Beste ist … es wird bald in Deutschland veröffentlicht werden!! Ich bin soooo begeistert!

Laura: Ja, „Masters of Seduction“ ist absolut aufregend! Ich liebe die Arbeit mit Lara und Donna. Aber wirklich, die Arbeit mit Alex ist das absolut Beste.

„Master of Seduction“ soll auch auf Deutsch kommen? WOW! Das sind ja wunderbare Nachrichten! 😀
Können Sie sich vorstellen nach „Ewiges Verlangen“, weitere Ihrer Bücher auf Deutsch zu veröffentlichen? Oh, dieses Buch werde ich mir übrigens sofort runterladen! *lach*

Laura: Ich hoffe es wirklich. Ich liebe es, wenn meine Vampire auf Deutsch erscheinen. Ich habe von mehreren deutschen Lesern gehört, die hoffen, dass die Serie auch dort weiterhin übersetzt wird.

After I have more than interested read on facebook  that Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright have teamed up to write a new paranormal series, with the blissful title „Bayou Heat“, I was quite curious. After all, I have been following  the „Guardians of Eternity“ series by Alexandra Ivy since the beginning, and this pleases me very much. Unfortunately, I still have not  read anything by Laura Wright in German, so I couldn‘t  yet enjoy her story „Unsterbliches Verlangen“.

After finally seeing the cover „Bayou Heat“ at the Heyne publishing house, the „quite curious“  turned into a „extremely curious“. So I thought to myself: „Knock on the autors doors and just check out if the two ladies might want to conduct a little interview with me.“

Alexandra:   Thank you so much for inviting us, Ka.  I’m so excited to be here!!

Laura: Yes, thank you, Ka! So, so, so thrilled to be here!!

That makes me happy! * laughs *
What exactly happens, when two successful authors unite together to write a book? Did each of you write the part of their hero couple separately, and the story was „linked“ or how can we readers envision collaborative writing?

Alexandra:  We each wrote our stories separately, but when we’re in the middle of writing the stories we usually talk to each other every day so we can keep the overall story arc of the books linked together.  Of course, what we plot and what actually comes out is never quite the same   We work amazingly well together and it’s never a problem when one of us veers off-course.  We can lock ourselves in when the story is determined to go in a new direction!

Laura: Basically, I wait until Alex writes her brilliant story, then I take it from there. We play off each other, and allow each other complete freedom. Alex wasn’t kidding or exaggerating when she said we work well together. It’s really quite extraordinary….and rare

Has there ever been a moment during your collaboration in which you thought: „I had imagined the whole stuff completely different?“ 😉

Alexandra:  Yes!  Which is the beauty of writing with a partner!!  I have a certain way of looking at the characters and where the plot should go, then Laura suggests something I would never have thought of and I come back with something she would never have thought of…and suddenly it’s magic!

Laura: Yes times two! Lol… It’s one of my favorite things about writing together. Well, writing with Alex. By the time I’m done reading her story, I may decide to go in a completely different and more provocative direction. It’s creatively wonderful!

Which of the characters –  Raphael or Parish – arise from your authors feather Laura?

Laura:  Parish. *Lol* I will always side with my men. Or my Pantera. *g* I can’t seem to help it. I feel their pain, their emotions, their desires so clearly. They usually have the grander arc, or change, to overcome.

When I read the title „Bayou Heat“, my imagination instantly begins to run wild and I imagine hot and sultry nights (okay even days *laughs*). Am I reasonably correct, Alexandra? 😀

Alexandra:  Absolutely.  I lived in Louisiana for over four years, and there’s something very erotic about the heat and the scent of flowers that’s thick in the air.  The world seems to move at a slower pace in the south.

Hmm, that sounds … hot! *grins*
Laura, can you chat a little out of school? What awaits us readers – apart from the blurb – in the new „Bayou Heat“ series?

Laura: Oh my. Incredible things! Up next, we have Angel and Hiss, a Pantera traitor. A book that will change the course of events in the Bayou once again. And…. Drumroll… Alex and I are plotting an offshoot series called PUMA HEAT. A little more suspense married with a lot more heat.

How would you describe „your“ female and male heroes in a short sentence?

Alexandra:   My females tend to be kick-ass.  Either physically or mentally.  I love, love, love strong women.  My males tend to be nurturers.  I love to read the alpha male, but I can’t seem to write him   My males are usually strong, but tender.

Laura: My males are always dark, dangerous, emotionally gutted, and believe they aren’t deserving of love. My females are tough, smart, yet nurturing. They are usually damaged emotionally. I love that both my hero and heroine are usually fairly emotionally ruined when they find each other. That they bring each other back to life, save each other, build the family that each craves and deserves.

Is it already set, how many stories the series ultimately has, or can´t you predict this?

Alexandra: We have a set number of books in each story arc.  It’s important to have a pay-off when you keep building the tension.  But we keep coming up with new story arcs, so it’s impossible to say how many books there will eventually be.

Laura: I hope this series never ends! There is always a new twist, a new conflict – a few fight – to explore.

So, we readers can look forward to some more! ^^
Have you had a say about the cover design of the German edition? It is very different from the original cover.

Alexandra:  No, we didn’t have any say, but I love the cover!

Laura: It is different from the original, but just as hot. I love the cover, and I can’t wait to see the covers of the next two books!

A small, somewhat provocative, last question for both of you: Could you also imagine working with other authors? *winks*

Alexandra: We do have a project with the fabulous Lara Adrian and Donna Grant writing about insanely hot incubi called Masters of Seduction!  And best of all…it will soon be published in Germany!!  I’m sooooo thrilled

Laura: Yes, so excited about Masters of Seduction! Love working with Lara and Donna. But truly, working with Alex is the absolute best.

„Master of Seduction“ is to be translated into German? Wow! Those are wonderful news! 😀
